Maltesers vs. Kit Kat

The consumption of Maltesers has increased recently, probably because the discount coupon for tickets of UA line cinemas.

The stuff insides Maltesers always excite every single kid and sometime even adults From its advertisement knowing it is a kind of brown sweet thing; don’t know what it calls and where it’s from. But it just elevates Maltesers from the rest of the chocolate snacks plus the crunch it provides from the sweet brown stuff inside. It crowned “my favorite snack” in chocolate category for a several consecutive years untouched.

Until someday Kit Kat joins the fight with its chocolate wrapped wafer; no rocket science inside but smartly packing the simplest thing in the right size and dressed it with an eyes catching suit. It makes huge success since it lunched the market. The battle for chocolate lover has become sever everyday recently since the health concern atmosphere storm these companies without any warning in advance.

Since both have lunched the market long enough however their fight continue on. The advertisement of Kit Kat shows a lead for a day or two with its idea to link the “Time Out” time and “weir things” do happen during time out break into its’ advertisement. On the other hand, Maltesers’ one seems fail to scratch something out to remind us its uniqueness (the sweet brown stuff inside) in order to impress ones.

Knowing the chocolate supply is dominated by few giant suppliers, both Maltesers and Kit Kat might actually under one supplier. But from the product level, each is competitor of its own market and trying to capitalize as much as possible (although just a tiny one currently).

Besides the fact is “sweet thing” does give us the feeling of pleasant and happy from time to time. And the actual expenditure reduction does come more solid than any image trying to impose on it.
