As ‘vegetarian’ school’s production, soccer is never a stranger.
During the early days of this encounter, there was a time of frustration and depression. Knowing it is one of the compulsory subjects and none of the background can actually provide any privilege in this arena. Times is gonna be tough.
Like any other poor kids, the only line up left is at the very back of the team. Kids with fancy legs always got his spot in the very front line – striker. Poor kids can only be defenders or sometime even worse – goalkeeper (come on, it’s a sport of legs not hands, god sake! Not again!). Eventually, defender becomes the cradle of soccer.
No idea it was obsession with the ‘vegetarian’ school days or just having zero creativity at all. The starting line up doesn’t change much over times. To be honest, this kind of thing is pissing from time to time. But can’t remember since when, this feeling has gone for good.
Goal, of course is exciting; especially for those who have the final magic touch (unless it was an “own goal”). However, over the years, developed a kind of “not my type" to those strikers. They all seems to be “free riders” to the team; enjoy too much credits for their goals and taking virtually zero responsibility to the losses. Feeding them with numerous opportunities like parents to sons. But it stills no way to compare with their appetite. Their quickness and creativity are eyes catching. However, dependability, reliability and the ability to tell things in greater perspective are more impressive than the pursuit of individual glories. Challenges toward intruders - strikers, it is like “you are in the land of mine @#%”, and has to get into the heads of them, challenge their thoughts, their quickness and most exciting of all - their intelligent. It is like a fire ball in head, the most rewarding results will be "I got you @$%”, “ask me before you shoot, you @#%”, “you are in the hand of mine”, “you underestimate me, do you? @#%”, “done your homework” and etc. Defenders are like holding the world on their shoulders and wouldn’t afford drop it no matter what. Have to maintain focus and putting 120% efforts to meet these challenges, regrouping and strike back.
